Now in its 19th year, the Trencherman’s Guide, described as “the holy grail for anyone seeking South West dining at its best”, has introduced a new concept of Rising Stars for those restaurants yet to be featured in top food guides but recognised by Trencherman’s for their excellent offering for food and drink lovers.
The Rising Stars recognition for the Waterside Bistro follows hot on the heels of the very recent opening of the sister restaurant, the New Walk Brasserie also in Totnes by partner team, Matt & Delphine Buzzo.
Head chef and proprietor Matt is thrilled and delighted. “This is such great news for us and the whole team here at the Waterside Bistro. Trencherman’s has a really strong following of food and drink connoisseurs who live or visit the South West.
“The invitation to be included as a Rising Star will help us build on our reputation for fresh, local produce and fish served at the best prices possible. It’s testimony to the hard work and passion of everyone who has been involved in the success of the restaurant since our opening seven years ago. We are all chuffed to bits!”
The Waterside Bistro offers relaxed, continental style dining by the River Dart in the heart of Totnes and is open everyday for breakfast, coffee & scones, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Expo heralds new DEAL for city
The Food Plymouth Expo, an exciting new Plymouth trade show, is on at the Plymouth Guildhall this Wednesday 27th March, with over 60 food producers and support organisations exhibiting; including fresh fish, meat, pasties, fruit and veg, along with a range of other innovative and tasty local food products. Organisers are expecting around 250 visitors, amongst them many of the region’s leading restaurants and hotels, along with other key food buyers from within the city, including those from Plymouth’s schools, colleges and University.
