29th December 2011

Open to any Devon based, food and drink producer, food service, hospitality, retail, outside catering and wholesale business, the afternoon’s programme offers short, advisory, marketing masterclasses, delivered by successful experts in their field.

Those booking for the event can choose 3 out of 5 masterclasses on diverse topics to include: Developing marketing-led new products and services; Successful retailing; Customer service that keeps them coming back for more; Using sales promotion to attract new customers; and What the Editor looks for in a news story and its timing to improve your chances of publicity.

Speakers include Alan Qualtrough, Editor of the Western Morning News, Margaret Hiles, Veromar Consultancy, Barbara King, The Shops at Dartington, Joe Keohane, Browne’s Chocolates and Fi Daly, Prince Hall Hotel.

Michael Smith, Food and Drink Devon chairman and managing director of Venus,
is confident of the event’s appeal to both members and non-members.  He said: “Time is precious for any business and so is its marketing budget, so it makes sense to ensure that both are being spent to maximum advantage.

“This event is in response to members’ demand for more marketing advisory sessions. With great speakers, coupled with networking and publicity opportunities, this is definitely an event not to be missed by food and drink businesses, large or small.”

The workshop and networking event is hosted by Event Exeter, a recent new member to Food & Drink Devon, using the excellent facilities at Reed Hall, a prestigious setting for celebrations or conferences throughout the year on Exeter University’s Streatham campus.

The Food & Drink Devon Marketing Masterclasses & Networking Event is to be held on Monday, 23rd January from 3.00pm – 7.00pm to include food.  Cost: Members £10, non-members £25. Booking essential! For more information email: admin@lovetheflavour.co.uk or Tel: 01803 712393.
