The newly formed Bishopsteignton Business Society, of Bishopsteignton village near Teignmouth, South Devon, is pleased to announce its first group project: a Treasure Trail through this scenic foodie village suitable for all ages and all abilities, including families, wheelchairs and pushchairs. A sneak preview of the Trail is set for Devon County Show on 20 – 22 May, 2010, Thursday through Saturday. Old Walls Vineyard and Shute Fruit and Produce, sponsors of this exciting new venture, are exhibiting in the prestigious food marquee, and will be selling the newest trail booklets. Even the title is a mouthful: “The Mysterious Murder of the Mighty Minister!”
The Murder Mystery walk developed specifically for the group by Treasure Trails Devon is designed to lead walkers around this idyllic village and to sample its delights. It is unique in having four distinguished food and drink businesses in such a rural village: the Cockhaven Manor, Old Walls Vineyard, Red Rock Brewery and Shute Fruit and Produce. Where else can you find old world charm in a restaurant and inn, quality wine, superb hand crafted beer and a Pick Your Own with award winning preserves within walking distance of each other?
“Everyone we’ve spoken to in our travels around Bishopsteignton have been most welcoming and enthusiastic about the trail. This is the first trail we’ve written based on a single village, which has such an interesting and intriguing history. It has been a pleasure to be involved in this project with the Bishopsteignton Business Society, and as there’s so much to see and taste in Bishopsteignton, it’s easy to see why! We’ve already had enquiries from customers ready to solve the murder, too!” laughs Sandy Tilke of Treasure Trails Devon, who created the trail for the group along with her husband Rod.
There will be a formal launch of the trail early in June in the village. Please contact Lori Reich for further details.
