Our cook Lisa Eales will provide step-by-step guidance as you create popular family dinner dishes from scratch. During each hands-on session you will make dishes to take home along with the skills to recreate them in your own kitchen and the confidence to try new recipes. The sessions will include: Pastries & Pies, Italian Cookery, Mexican Cookery, Curry Night and Cakes & Treats. All ingredients are provided. This course needs a minimum number to run.

The event has the support of Visit Devon and the Devon tourism partnerships, and offers industry the chance to hear about latest developments in tourism, to share ideas on surviving the current economic situation, and to anticipate future visitor needs.

Confirmed speakers include Simon Calder, Senior Travel Editor of the Independent and regular TV travel guru, who will speak on the subject of 'Things I'd do if I were a tourism operator'.
We all drink Pinot Grigio even if we pretend we don't! We've pulled some examples together that illustrate what a great wine it can be, when made with care, and in lowish volumes. Of course you pay more, which is why you seldom see the wines we are going to taste outside smart Italian restaurants!
We aim to taste 6 wines with nibbles at the bar. After the tasting your ticket will include a platter of charcuterie, salads, smoked chicken and warm focaccia bread in the restaurant.

Hot crusty white bread, deliciously seedy brown bread, crispy pizza dough, flavoured bread sticks, gooey-in-the middle cheese bread or loaves studded with vine fruits eaten warm with lots of butter! Wouldn't it be great to offer family and guests delicious, fresh, homemade breads free of additives and tasting oh so much better than most commercial loaves? These tasty, healthy additive-free breads can be easily and cheaply made at home using very few ingredients. On this course we will show you how to make simple basic breads which can be customised to suit your palate. We will define exactly what bread is and demonstrate easy, tasty recipes, some of which you can bake without yeast for a super fast loaf. Workshop led by Gabrielle Jackson, chef and ex BBC producer of series including Rhodes around Britain and Kitchen Chemistry. Gabrielle began making her own bread after she realised she was allergic to this most tasty food stuff. Experimenting with homemade bread she realised she was not allergic to wheat but to the many additives commercial bread often contains to speed its rise and give it longer shelf life. During this workshop you will learn the basics of bread making yourself and go home with a basket of delicious baked goods. It is also super satisfying - very good for anyone feeling stressed out after Christmas! Bread dough enjoys a good bashing!

Gribbles Butchers makes some of the best sausages around and this is your chance to learn their secrets! Join an expert butcher for a hands-on lesson in the art of sausage-making and leave equipped with the skills, and handfuls of sausages, to take home with you. We will make a selection of flavoured sausages including plain pork, sweet chilli, pork & leek, Toulouse and Lincolnshire.
