The Food & Drink Devon Awards are back to celebrate the very best Devon has to offer. The Awards cover food production, preparation, retailing, cooking and service. Award winners will benefit from media recognition, as well as an excellent marketing tool and resultant increased sales. Hospitality Award winners will automatically be entered in to the Devon Tourism Awards, with an opportunity to progress to regional and national awards.

This year there will be four awards categories:  

 

*Devon Producer for primary and secondary food and drink producers
 

*Taste of Devon for restaurants and cafés, sponsored by Luscombe Drinks

*Devon Retailer for food shops, sponsored by Stephens Scown Solicitors 

*Outstanding Contribution for any business that, throughout the judging process for the above awards, has demonstrated an outstanding achievement in their area, sponsored by The Venus Company .

To enter an award you must be based in Devon and meet the Food & Drink Devon eligibility criteria which you can find here

Entry remains free of charge. However, for 2013, there is an introduction of this small fee for any additional products entered. This will help us improve the quality of the judge’s feedback and the judging process. The extended timetable is also designed to allow for a series of more specific tasting sessions each with qualified experts in each category.

Devon Producer:

 

Food & Drink Devon Member - Entry is free for 2 products per company. Then £15+ VAT per additional product.
 

Non-Members - Entry is free for 1 product per company. Then £15+ VAT per additional product.

All producers will be required to cover the cost of purchasing samples of their products from a nominated selection of retailers. This is done by providing a letter of reimbursement to the retailer with your entry. For a sample letter please click here

Taste of Devon (Hospitality):

 

Entry is Free but a voucher is required to cover the cost of a two or three course meal for 2 judges with a drink each.

There is a different entry form for each award. Each award category will have several sub-categories to promote judging like with like. Judges will be experts from Devon food and drink sector, and will remain anonymous.

In addition to the Devon Producer Awards which recognise the overall business performance, individual products may be awarded Gold. 

Entries close on Friday 3rd May. Judging will take place over the following three months, and the winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in October.
